A Home for the Holidays for Claudia

Claudia is a very sweet girl!

Claudia was brought to Animal Health Care Specialists in April of 2011.  She had a broken jaw due to a dog attack.  Because the orthopedic surgeon couldn’t use pins to fix her jaw he had to “fuse” her upper and lower canines together.  Because of that, her mouth is constantly open – her jaw healed a little crooked so she is unable to eat dry food.  After her jaw healed, she came into heat and was spayed.  THEN, she started limping on her left rear leg.  X-rays revealed that with both of her hips the ball joint was rubbing against the socket, causing a lot of pain.  She had the femoral head removed from the left rear leg (the bone forms a joint in the muscle).  About a month later – in October – she started limping on her right rear leg so she had the same surgery done on that leg.

Claudia is a real trooper undergoing 4 surgeries in 6 months.  She is available for adoption now.  She is a very sweet and loving cat.  And, even after her bad experience with a dog she is still not afraid of dogs!  She would do well with other cats but would probably prefer to be the only cat in the home so she could get all the attention!  Her adoption fee is $75.00 (when she is really worth a few thousand due to all her surgeries!).  Come see her at Animal Health Care Specialists, 6701 N. Washington Street or call us at 303-288-6800.  Claudia would love to have her own home for the Holidays!
